Lizzy has been practicing meditation for a dozen years. She's familiar with various forms, but spent her first decade doing the simple, but effective Shamata practice taught by Shambhala teachers (Shambhala is a Tibetan sect of Buddhism). Her two primary teachers are also in that lineage. Over the last few years, she's delved more deeply into Insight Meditation, taught by Tara Brach, Gil Fronsdale and Jack Kornfield. Lizzy is not a meditation instructor, and as such will only be holding space for other people who would like to practice. She will lead each session with a 5- to 15-minute recorded meditation practice, and then ring the bell for quiet sitting practice. While stillness is encouraged, people are welcome to practice in any way they choose (lying down, sitting in chairs or sitting on cushions).
